The Tenant Grading report provides an overview of tenant health based on Playbook policy compliance. A higher number of fully compliant policies (100%) results in a higher tenant score (A+). Each compliance percentage corresponds to a grade from A+ to F.
The report helps Tenant Admins and delegated operators identify and prioritize critical non-compliant policies within their permissions scope, so they can take corrective action and improve the score.
To access the Tenant Grading report, select the “Overall Tenant grade” widget in the “Overview dashboard” of the Governance Center.

The report includes three main sections:
- Tenant score: track compliance trends and see the impact of remediation efforts.
- Policy summary: identify, prioritize, and address non‑compliant policies within your scope.
- Scoring rules: understand how grades are calculated to target improvements effectively.
Tenant score

Grading
This dashboard displays:
- The tenant compliance percentage (100%–0%) and the corresponding grade (A+–F).
- The total number of points gained from compliant policies versus the maximum possible points.
Policy points are based on severity:
- Critical (compliant): 50 points each
- Warning (compliant): 10 points each
- Informational: 0 points
Select “How is it calculated?” below the “Total points” value to view a detailed breakdown in the “Scoring rules” panel.
Score over time
The graph shows how the tenant score changes over time. Use the dropdown menu in the upper‑left corner to select a viewing range of 3 months, 6 months, or 1 year. Each point on the chart represents the latest score recorded for that day. Scores update automatically at 12:00 AM CEST, and a timestamp shows when the most recent update occurred. To expand your view, select the “View full screen” icon in the upper‑left corner of the chart.
Refresh Score button
To see changes immediately after fixing non‑compliant policies—without waiting for the next scheduled update—Tenant Admins and Playbook Admins can manually refresh the snapshot by selecting the “Refresh score” button at the top of the page. Once clicked, the button becomes disabled for 30 minutes and appears greyed out while inactive.

If the score is not refreshed manually, temporary differences may appear between the overall tenant grade and policy data, as Playbooks can sync more often than once every 24 hours.
Policy summary
The Policy Summary section is permission‑sensitive. Operators can only view and manage policies that fall within their assigned permissions.

For each policy, the table shows:
- Status: whether the policy is currently compliant or not.
- Severity: the criticality of non‑compliance: Critical, Warning, or Informational.
- Score impact (Recommended Actions tab): the potential increase in score if remediated (e.g., +4%).
- Score contribution (Policies Evaluated and Compliant Policies tabs): the positive percentage added to the score (e.g., 2%)
- Playbook: the Playbook that contains the policy.
- Last update of the grade: the date the tenant score was most recently updated.
Three insight widgets filter the table:
Recommended actions
By default, the Recommended Actions tab is filtered to show enabled, non‑compliant policies within the operator’s permission scope that reduce the score. The “Score Impact” attribute displays the percentage increase to the tenant grade you can achieve by remediating each policy. After you remediate a policy, use the “Refresh score” functionality to update and view the current tenant grade.

Policies evaluated
The Policies Evaluated widget displays the total number of enabled policies that contribute to the tenant score, as well as the number of policies within your permission scope. If you are a Tenant Admin, these numbers will be the same. In the table below, the “Score Contribution” attribute shows the percentage that each policy contributes to the overall tenant grade.

Compliant policies
The Compliant Policies tab displays all the compliant policies within the operator's permission scope. Within the widget, a badge displays the points these policies contribute compared to the total possible points if all policies under that scope were compliant. In the table below, the “Score Contribution” attribute shows the percentage that each policy contributes to the overall tenant grade.

Scoring rules
The Scoring Rules section explains how your tenant grading is determined. At the top of the page, you’ll find a description of how policy points are assigned based on severity levels, followed by the formula used to calculate the compliance rate. Below that, you can view a detailed breakdown of your tenant score, reflecting the most current data from your tenant. A timestamp at the top indicates the last synchronization.

You can access the following information in-app. Click “How is it calculated?” on the Tenant Grading page to open the “Scoring rules” panel.
Understanding your tenant score
Points allocation
Each enabled policy is assigned a score based on its severity:
- Critical policies: 50 points each
- Warning policies: 10 points each
- Informational policies: 0 points (do not affect the score)
The Maximum score represents the total possible points if all eligible policies are compliant.
Deductions for non-compliance
If a matched item exceeds the threshold becoming a violation, the entire score will be deducted.
Compliance rate
Your compliance rate is calculated as:
(Final Score / Maximum Score) × 100
This compliance rate is then converted into a grade (refer to the table at the bottom of the page).
Calculation breakdown of your tenant score
Total policies evaluated
All enabled policies in your tenant contribute to the overall score. Depending on your assigned permissions, you may only be able to view or manage specific policies.
Policy type | Quantity | Points / policy | Score |
---|---|---|---|
Critical policies | |||
✅ Compliant critical policies | 7 | +50 points | +350 |
Critical policies with violations above threshold | 10 | 0 points | 0 |
Warning policies | |||
✅ Compliant warning policies | 22 | +10 points | +220 |
⚠️ Warning policies with violations | 17 | 0 points | 0 |
Informational policies | |||
✅ Compliant informational policies | 45 | 0 points | 0 |
ℹ️ Informational policies with violations | 18 | 0 points | 0 |
Final score | 570/1240 |
The calculation is performed daily at 12:00 UTC at the tenant level, which may lead to discrepancies throughout the day between the Tenant grade and the compliance status of policies displayed in your Governance center or Playbooks, as the latter is updated more frequently. To refresh the Tenant score in real time, click on "Refresh score." Please be aware that the process may take a few minutes to complete.
Compliance rate
Compliance rate example
- Maximum score: 1240 points
- Final score: 570 points
- Compliance rate: (570 / 1240) x 100 = 46%
According to the grading scale, a compliance rate of 46 corresponds to a F grade.
