Show map feature in Entra ID audit reports

The “Show map” feature enables you to visualize the geographical locations of users at the time of their logins, and subsequently refine your data based on this information.

This feature is exclusively accessible for the following Entra ID Audit reports:

  • Sign-in events
  • Sign-ins with admin roles
  • Sign-ins external
  • Sign-ins failed

Upon opening any of these reports, the map should appear by default. If it doesn't, simply enable the “Show map” toggle located at the top right to have it appear. 

To refine your data using the map, follow the steps below:

Step 1

Click the orange circle containing the total number of signed-in users:

Refine your search by clicking on the newly appeared circles until you get to the desired location:

To go back to the general view of the map, click the square containing 4 arrows at the top right of the map:

Now, your report will be filtered according to the selected location, as you can see from the example below where only the City of Dublin appears in the list:
