Understanding actions

The individual tasks that constitute a workflow are known as actions. Within CoreView, a variety of action types are available.

Available actions in CoreView

Three different kinds of actions are available within CoreView:

Management actions

These are predefined CoreView actions that allow you to manage objects (e.g. users, groups, devices) in various ways (e.g. create, edit, delete, etc.) relevant to the specific workload.

You can see them all by clicking on “ACTIONS” > “Management actions” and using the "Filter assistant.

Custom actions

Tenant admins are able to write custom PowerShell scripts, covering any specific needs, on their tenant.

Workflow management actions

These can be different from management actions, as are specifically dedicated to workflows. They can only be accessed from the “Manage workflows” section.

Workflow management actions can be categorized as follows:

  • Native actions, which can be found under the “Manual” and “Miscellaneous” categories.
  • Microsoft actions, which are available under all other remaining categories.

Workflow management actions CANNOT be viewed in the “Management action” section of CoreView.
