The “Create custom alert” action allows you to create custom alerts for specific configurations. The alert is triggered whenever there is any type of change in the specific configuration, whether a property value is modified, the configuration is removed, or a new configuration is added. The change is detected after a Sync (or Back Up Only) occurs.
To configure the alert, follow the steps below.
Configure custom alerts
Step 1: set the Reconcile page
- Select “Reconcile” from the menu.
- Select the desired tenant you wish to set custom alerts for. Please, note that this feature does not require you to perform a comparison to work.
- Click “Apply”

Please, note that if you want to set a custom alert while comparing tenants, you will find the action in each Reconcile column.
Step 2: select the configuration and action
- Look for the configuration you wish to set the custom alert for.
- Click on the three dots within the configuration, a menu opens where the new section “Create custom alert” is available.
- Select “Create custom alert”

Step 3: configure the custom alert
- Click “Create Custom Alert” to a modal window that allows you to enter the name of the alert. By default, the system suggests the configuration name, but it can be customized: for example, you can name it “security warning number 1” or specify who it refers to (“important configuration for “name”), especially when there are multiple configurations with the same name.

- Choose who receives the email notification. You can add as many email addresses as needed.
Please, note that the only required field is a valid email address. If you do not enter a custom name, the configuration’s default name is used.

Once you click “Create,” the alert is saved at the tenant level, meaning all people with access to that tenant can view, modify, or delete it in the “Custom alert” section.
When creating an alert, if you try to add one that already exists for the same configuration, a warning banner appears and you’re directed to the alert management section to adjust its settings.

Manage the alert
Once the alert is created from the Reconcile page, it is managed via the Sync page.
To do so,
- In the Sync page, select the tenant where the alert was created
- Go to Sync settings, and find the “Custom alert” section with a list of all configurations: the name is shown, and the configuration path appears as a subtitle. Please, note that if there are several configurations with the same name, opening the alert will show the configuration path, allowing you to distinguish them.

- Now you can:
- Edit the alert by clicking on the pencil icon

- Delete the alert by clicking the trash icon.

Email notification
The alert notifies you when a specific configuration changes, with the change being detected after a Sync (or BackUp Only).
In the email,
- the sender is coreview@support.com,
- the subject is “customer notification,”
- and the content specifies the configuration and describes the change (previous and new value).
Permissions
As far as permissions are concerned,
- If you are a workload-restricted operator: alerts can only be created, modified, or deleted on workloads for which you have visibility, i.e., within your own tenant.
- If you have view-only permissions (Configuration viewer): you can only view alerts, but cannot manage them
