CoreView Control for SharePoint: overview

  • Last update on September 29th, 2026

CoreView Control for SharePoint provides visibility into SharePoint Online sites, files, folders, permissions, sharing exposure, storage usage, and version growth. It combines dashboards, Management Actions and Workflows, reports, and out-of-the-box Playbook policies to support review of sharing risk, unique permissions, permission sprawl, storage growth, and reclaimable storage.

What CoreView Control for SharePoint includes

  • Progressive SharePoint item-level import
  • Dashboards for sharing and storage analysis
  • Management Actions and Workflow Management Actions
  • Reports for site drilldown and item investigation
  • Out-of-the-box Playbook policies for sharing, permissions, and storage governance

Import

CoreView Control for SharePoint imports item-level SharePoint metadata progressively so that higher-priority sites are processed first. After the first full import, Delta import keeps supported changes up to date through SharePoint Online audit logs.

Dashboards

Dashboards provide tenant-level visibility into sharing configuration, external exposure, storage usage, projected growth, and reclaimable storage.

Actions and Workflows

Management Actions allow you to manage objects (e.g. users, groups, devices) in a variety of ways (e.g. create, edit, delete) relevant to a specific workload. Workflows automate administrative tasks by configuring chains of actions that perform repetitive Management Actions without manual intervention.

  • Delete files from recycle bin (Management Action)
  • Delete files from recycle bin (Workflow Management Actions)
  • File Archive (Management Action)
  • File Archive (Workflow Management Action)
  • Site Archive (Management Action)
  • Site Archive (Workflow Management Action)

The Archive actions and policy remediation options appear only for sites where File Archive and Site Archive are enabled in Microsoft 365.

Reports

Reports support site-level drilldown, item-level review, and investigation of unique permissions and access.

Playbook policies

Out-of-the-box Playbook policies help identify risky sharing configurations, inactive or oversized content, high version counts, sites in recycle bin, and permission sprawl.
