Assign reviewers

You can designate contributors responsible for carrying out an Access Review in CoreView.

Assigning reviewers

Step 1: select primary reviewers

In the “Reviewers” section, choose the individuals responsible for conducting the Access Review. Primary reviewers can be assigned in the following ways:

  • Resource owners: the default reviewer is determined by the selected review template:
    • Group templates: group owners
    • Guest Users template: guest creators
    • SharePoint Site Members template: SharePoint site owners
    • OneDrive Owners template: OneDrive owners
    • Mailbox Permissions template: users with access
  • Assigned reviewers: specify one or more custom email addresses.
  • Tenant Admin: enter the email address(es) of one or more CoreView Tenant Admins.
Assign your primary reviewers for your Access Review.

Step 2: select backup reviewers

Assigning backup reviewers is recommended to ensure review tasks progress when a primary reviewer is unavailable. By default, the backup reviewer field is populated with the email address of the tenant admin who created the review. To change the backup reviewer, simply update the email address in this field. You can assign any operator with access to your Microsoft environment as a backup reviewer, regardless of whether they are a CoreView operator or not.

Assign a backup reviewer in case your primary reviewers are unavailable.

Missing and invalid owners

When a resource lacks valid owners, CoreView sends Access Review notifications to the specified backup reviewer. For additional details, refer to the “Detect invalid owners” article .

This rerouting applies to Teams groups, Security groups, Distribution groups, Microsoft 365 groups, SharePoint Online site memberships, and OneDrive owners.

Step 3: Assign V-Tenant scope

When setting the resource selection type to “Dynamic”, you can enable the “Scope” toggle. This applies the review only to the resources included in a specific Virtual Tenant at the time each review occurs. The UI adapts based on the Virtual Tenant assignment of the selected reviewer(s):

  • If multiple Virtual Tenants are assigned, a dropdown displays all available Virtual Tenants. Only a single Virtual Tenant can be selected.
  • If a single Virtual Tenant is assigned, the dropdown is pre-filled with the available selection.
  • If no Virtual Tenant is assigned, the dropdown is hidden.
