Multi-geo data location support in SharePoint and OneDrive

  • Last update on March 26th, 2025

Our platform offers robust support for multi-geo data locations, ensuring that organizations operating in various geographical regions can effectively manage their data in SharePoint and OneDrive. This feature significantly enhances reporting and management capabilities, providing users with insight and control over their data across different locations.

Reporting features

When generating reports in SharePoint and OneDrive, users can now add a “Preferred data location” column. This column will clearly indicate the geographical location where each item's data is stored.

After you first add the “Preferred data location” column to the “SharePoint recycle bin” report, ensure to select “Actions > Refresh data” for the changes to take effect properly.

Management actions

Our multi-geo support also extends to various management actions, allowing for streamlined administration across multiple regions. The following actions are supported:

  • Add SharePoint admins in bulk
  • Add SharePoint owners in bulk
  • Delete SharePoint sites
  • Edit member sharing settings
  • Edit SharePoint access request settings
  • Manage SharePoint owners
  • Manage SharePoint sharing settings
  • Remove SharePoint admins in bulk
  • Remove SharePoint owners in bulk
  • Remove sites from the recycle bin
  • Restore sites from the recycle bin
  • Set SharePoint quotas
  • Add OneDrive owners in bulk
  • Manage OneDrive owners
  • Remove OneDrive owners in bulk
  • Set OneDrive quotas
  • Pre-provision OneDrive sites

Geolocation support for the “Create SharePoint modern site” action will be available soon! However, please note that the “Create SharePoint site” action will not support geolocation, as this functionality will be deprecated in 2026.
