The “App Secrets” report provides a comprehensive list of all the secrets for app registrations within your tenant. Much like a password for an individual user, an app secret authenticates the application's identity to the services it aims to access.

Overview

This report aids in quickly identifying and resolving issues with apps whose secrets have expired or are close to expiring, ensuring smooth management.

How to use the report

  • Identifying secrets nearing expiration: Use the “Expiration date column and apply the “Next N days” filter to monitor upcoming deadlines for your app secrets. This step is crucial for taking timely action to prevent any disruption of service.

  • Addressing expired secrets: the “Expired” column shows which app secrets have already expired. This information is vital for taking the necessary steps to renew or update these secrets.
  • Identify apps with secret expiries too far in the future: simply consult the “Expire in (days)” column to find all app secrets that pose a security threat.

By keeping a current overview of your app secrets, you help ensure that your applications stay authenticated and functional, thereby protecting your tenant's security and operational integrity.
