Restore configurations foundations

  • Last update on October 23rd, 2026

On the Restore configurations page, you can:

  • Compare the current state of your configurations with their backed-up state from a selected past date.
  • Identify which configuration states have changed, and decide whether to restore them or accept them as approved deviations.
  • Prepare a restore deployment to bring your configurations back to their backed-up state.

Last update indicator

The “Last update” indicator shows how recent the target tenant data is for the comparison.

The value is displayed in relative time, such as seconds, minutes, or hours ago. Hover over the value to view the exact date and time. No manual refresh is required.

Target tenant widget

The Target tenant widget identifies the tenant where deployment actions will be applied. The widget also displays the tenant deployment status, which determines whether a new deployment can be started.

Reference widget

Use the Reference widget to choose the past backup you want to compare your current configuration against:

  1. Select the scope you want to compare. Scopes are listed in alphabetical order by default. Otherwise, you can select the star icon next to a configuration scope to set it as the preferred scope: the next time you open this use case, the scope marked as preferred is preloaded automatically.
  2. Choose the backup timestamp of the selected scope to use as the baseline. When you select a different backup, the alignment information is updated.

List of configurations and filters

The list of configurations compares the reference (backed-up) state with the current state of the target tenant. It shows both aligned and misaligned configurations.

Configurations are initially displayed at the configuration type level. Expand a row to review individual configuration and available actions.

Use the “Search” field to find configuration types or individual configurations in the current list.

Status filters

You can use the status filters to navigate the configuration list and show only configurations with a specific alignment state:

Status Description
All Shows all configurations in scope, regardless of their status.
Conflicting The configuration exists both in the current state and in the reference backup, but its values have changed.
Only in reference The configuration exists in the reference backup but is no longer present in the current state.
Aligned The current configuration matches the reference backup.
Only in target tenant The configuration exists in the current state but was not present in the reference backup.
Skipped The most recent completed read is older than the scheduled read interval for the scope.
