MSOL deprecation announcement

  • Last update on March 26th, 2025

Important notice

We want to inform you about a significant update regarding the MSOL module that will affect our services.

On March 22, 2025, Microsoft conducted critical temporary outage tests that have confirmed the imminent deprecation of the MSOL module. In light of this, and as anticipated in our January release notes, we're acting proactively to ensure our CoreView platform remains fully aligned with Microsoft’s upcoming changes.

Microsoft will officially deprecate the MSOL module on March 30, 2025. The recent outage tests have provided essential insights into this transition, prompting us to take early action to facilitate a smooth process for all our customers.

Key changes and action items:

Impact on Custom Actions and Workflows

Any custom actions or automation utilizing the MSOL or Entra ID need your immediate attention. We recommend migrating to the new Graph-based actions as soon as possible to prevent any disruptions

Changes to MFA reporting

The “MFA auth state”, which is currently managed via MSOL, will be phased out. Consequently, the “MFA auth state” column in your reports will be removed, and workflows that rely on this attribute will no longer function. Expect temporary outages related to this field as we proceed with the deprecation process.

  1. Review and update customizations
Please evaluate your scripts, workflows, or reports that depend on MSOL configurations and begin making necessary adjustments to ensure functionality.
  2. Plan your migration
Strategically transition any MSOL-related actions to Microsoft Graph alternatives as soon as possible to minimize any potential impacts on your operations.
  3. Stay engaged
Keep an eye on our communications for further updates and detailed migration instructions. Our dedicated Support Team is available to assist you throughout this transition.

At CoreView, we remain committed to providing you with a secure and efficient platform that leverages the latest technologies. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we navigate these important changes.

Thank you for your continued partnership and swift action regarding these updates.
