November 20 enhancements

GOVERNANCE CENTER

Connection string warning: a new message appears after clicking “Configure” in the “Tenant settings in the last 7 days” widget. It alerts users that the CoreView connection string is generated only once, aiding the configuration process of the Configuration Manager.

Introducing Playbook widget icons: in the Overview tab, new icons have been added to help users quickly identify different Playbook widgets associated with various Microsoft services.

PLAYBOOKS

New Entra apps policies: the following out-of-the-box policies are now available in the “Entra apps” Playbook, providing enhanced visibility and control over the enterprise applications in your tenant:

  • Enterprise apps added in last 30 days
  • Enterprise apps assigned with “Directory.ReadWrite.All” permission
  • Enterprise apps assigned with “Directory.Read.All” permission
  • Enterprise apps with “ReadWrite” access

New remediation for Entra app policies: the remediation of the following out-of-the-box Entra app policies has been updated to “Send report”, providing greater flexibility:

  • Enterprise apps with site access
  • Enterprise apps with mail access
  • Enterprise apps with file access
  • Enterprise apps with contact access
  • Enterprise apps with calendar access
  • Enterprise apps with more than 5 delegated permissions
  • Enterprise apps assigned with “Application.ReadWrite.All” permission.
  • Enterprise apps assigned with “Application.Read.All” permission.

REPORTS

Simplified action selection: the selection of only relevant actions has been enabled within the Manage panel in the “Licenses” tab of the Optimization Center, ensuring a more efficient user experience.

SETTINGS

Extra grant needed for managing MFA: starting December 1st, 2024, CoreView users will need to provide consent for the “Policy.ReadWrite.AuthenticationMethod” permission to manage MFA settings. This consent will be available in Organization settings > Consent management.

USER CARD

Revamped user card: user cards have been refreshed with numerous updates to enhance the user experience. Among these updates, users can enjoy an improved creation process for custom widgets, easier autoreply configuration, and simplified access to tabs and counter information.

Access to Meetings & Call history details: from now on, you can click on the Meetings and Calls widgets in the user card to access detailed reports.
This enhancement was inspired by a CoreVoice idea.

New Entra Apps widget: a new “Entra apps” widget is now available for users with the Entra app feature. This widget provides quick access to app delegations and ownership information, which is already filtered for the selected user.

New N/A tag for non-critical widgets: custom Playbook widgets with only informational policies or no set threshold are now marked with a new “N/A” grey tag for easy identification in the Overview tab.

Introducing Playbook filters: easily refine your Playbook overview with a new filter that allows you to switch from the default “All playbooks” option to view only predefined, custom, or compliant Playbooks.

Dynamic CoreView tenant grading: your “Overall tenant grading” now reveals the actual data used in the calculation within the scoring explanation. See all the numbers that make up your grade!
